Phrase Anagram Solver

Enter a phrase or set of letters and find combinations of dictionary words that use every letter, rearranged — not just one word at a time.

How this tool works

Type in a phrase or letter set and hit Solve Phrase Anagram. Unlike the Anagram Solver, which only finds a single word using all of your letters, this tool searches for combinations of two or more dictionary words that together use every letter exactly once — the classic "phrase anagram" puzzle format.

The "Max words" setting caps how many words a single combination can use, and the word list selector controls which dictionary the search draws from — "Common" is smaller and faster, which usually surfaces cleaner results, while "Extended" searches a larger vocabulary at the cost of more (and sometimes obscure) matches. Because this search runs entirely in your browser rather than on a server, both the number of results and the search itself are capped so the page stays responsive — if you see a note that results were cut short, try a lower max-words setting or a shorter phrase.

Want a single word instead of a combination? Try the Anagram Solver, or the Word Finder if you don't need to use every letter.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the regular Anagram Solver?
The Anagram Solver finds single dictionary words that use all of your letters. This tool splits your letters across multiple words instead — so it can turn a whole phrase's worth of letters into a combination of shorter words.
Why do I get fewer results with a higher "max words" setting?
It's usually the opposite — more max words means more possible combinations, not fewer. But the search is capped for performance, so a high max-words setting on a long phrase can hit that cap before finding every possible combination, in which case you'll see a note that results were cut short.
Why did my search stop early?
This tool runs entirely in your browser with no server backend, so the search is capped to keep the page responsive. If you see a note that results were cut short, try lowering the max words setting or shortening your input — both shrink the search space.
